Black Wave Design, based in Burlington, Vermont, is run by web designer and developer Steve Van Etten. Steve has a bachelor's degree in web design & development from Champlain College in Burlington. In addition to operating Black Wave Design, Steve is a junior developer for a local web design firm.

Black Wave specializes in designing and building standards-compliant websites in the popular MOD-X content management system, an open source development framework that gives Black Wave's client a simple and efficient way to update the content of their websites at their own convenience.

Our sites are all built with the latest web technologies and adhere to strict best-practices standards, which results in websites that render properly in any modern web broswer. Black Wave websites are typcially built in MOD-X, which utilizes the powerful PHP programming language in conjunction with MySQL databases to produce flexible, extensible results for our clients.

Clients can add virtually as many pages as they want to their sites and don't need to know anything about web design or technology in order to make updates to their sites.

All of our front-end development and design is produced with HTML, CSS, jQuery, Flash, JavaScript, Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator.
